TriRochester RealRyde at the Rochester Athletic Club (and Social)

You've probably noticed it is winter and the outdoor road biking  options are pretty limited, but oudoor riding season will be here before  you  know it.  In the meantime, if you haven't gotten your  indoor riding  mindset yet this year, we've got you covered!

The Rochester Athletic Club has just re-outfitted their indoor  cycling studio with all new bikes and have invited us to come and have a  group workout to check them out.  These bikes are pretty cool too.   They are Real Ryder brand and unlike normal stationary bikes, these have  side-to-side motion and the  handlebars turn to give more of an outdoor  bike experience.

This is open to all TriRochester members (you don't have to be a RAC  member) but there are only so  many bikes, so we will do a signup.  It  is scheduled for Saturday, Jan 25th at 4pm.  The plan is to meet at the  RAC at 4 and get everyone in with time to put stuff in lockers and set  up bikes and start the workout at 4:30.  We are planning an interval ride of about an hour.  If you have a heart rate monitor and would like  to use this as an opportunity to figure out your heart rate zones, the  intervals will be structured such that that is an option too.   Afterward, the plan is to  get cleaned up and grab something to eat in  the Club Cafe.  If you can't make it for the ride, feel free to still join us for some food afterward.

Bike Trainer Workouts

Tired of riding by yourself in your basement?  Bring your bike and trainer and come ride with fellow TriRochester members on Tuesday evenings in February and March.  We are starting our indoor trainer sessions this week!  There will be a ride leader to take everyone through the suggested workout.  It's a great opportunity to get in a challenging ride with friends and can save you from one more made-for-tv movie.  Details can be found here.  Hope to see you there!
