NorthStar Tri

Congrats to Mario Minelli for winning (and for finding) a Tri while on travel in southwestern MN this weekend!  The NorthStar Sprint Triathlon in Estherville, IA featured a 300yd pool swim, a 12 mile bike, and a 5k run.  Mario gained a nice lead on the bike overcoming some smoking fast transitions by the second place finisher and built on that lead on the run to cross the finish line in first with 5:48, 30:10, and 18:19 swim, bike, and run splits.

UPDATE: It turns out that Mario and most of the rest of the field were not stopping for coffee in transitions. Rather those crazy fast (20 second) transitions by a couple people were actually because they were on relay teams.
