This year's edition of HOLT was another great event. Check in, packet pick-up and body marking takes about 5 minutes. Not kidding. They have it down. The water was really warm, around 84*. Many people left the wetsuit in transition or at home. The bike course for this race is flattish and the run is the standard around the lake run. It was warm this year, but nowhere as hot as last year. The short course at HOLT is very beginner friendly and the long course is a nice step up for those wanting to try an Olympic distance race.
